I remember being young thinking the guy was just supposed to KNOW what I wanted and what I thought was romantic. After not even a year of being married, I realized how wrong the movies are. Men and women are wired so differently from one another–not to mention how different each individual, man or woman, is unique. Sweet friend, he isn’t a mind reader. It’s not like the movies. If you prefer coming home from a long day of work to a quiet, candle lit bubble bath rather than being showered with beautiful flowers and an already made dinner then tell him. He does what he thinks shows you he loves you. He doesn’t know what you need unless you teach him.
On the same note, pay attention to what he’s teaching you about himself. Maybe what you’re doing to show him you love him is really what would make you feel loved. His love language may be completely different.
If you’ve never done it, why don’t you take the Love Languages Test, and have your significant other do the same. Then talk about your results. It could very well change the direction of your relationship.
